Fishing

fishing and angling on the Teifi river and off the west Wales coastAlternatively, if you're keen on fishing, Ceredigion waters provide challenging sport for sea, shore, freshwater and coarse anglers.

Indeed, increasing numbers of anglers visit Ceredigion in order to try their hand at all disciplines. The most famous of Ceredigion’s rivers are the Teifi, Aeron, Rheidol and Ystwyth.

Freshwater angling focuses on trout, salmon and sewin. The seaward reach of the Teifi, in particular, is considered world-class for its sewin. Upstream on all rivers, the major challenge is the wily wild brown trout.

Coarse anglers can fish for carp, tench, perch, rudd, chub, bream, gudgeon and roach. Cardigan Bay is renowned for its bass and black bream and boats may be chartered from several of Ceredigion’s small ports.
